La Fresca is a community-led initiative in Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea, three neighborhoods built by generations of hardworking families and local entrepreneurs. We exist to make sure the value our community creates stays rooted here.
Our work stands on three things: local economic power that keeps every dollar in the community, preventing displacement so the families who built GES get to stay in it, and fresh food access as a health issue.

La Fresca es una iniciativa de la comunidad en Globeville, Elyria y Swansea, tres barrios construidos por generaciones de familias trabajadoras y emprendedores locales. Existimos para asegurar que el valor que crea nuestra comunidad se quede con raíces aquí.

Economic Stability Begins at the Corner Store
When dollars circulate locally, neighborhoods get stronger. Local food businesses do not just feed people. They create jobs for folks who live here, mentor young workers, and reinvest in the same streets they grew up on.
La Fresca helps the bakeries, butcher shops, and all small businesses of GES get the resources they need: marketing, sourcing, tax resources and permit resources, funding, and the visibility to stay rooted while the pressure to push them out keeps rising. We provide the tools that small business owners did not know they had access to. Together, that individual effort becomes collective strength.

On June 13, GES came together to celebrate the bakeries, butcher shops, restaurants, and ice cream shops that keep the neighborhood strong, and the small businesses growing alongside them.
